Jolece Rivera is a Puerto Rican-American illustrator, comic artist, and writer based in the New York/New Jersey area. She grew up living in between the bustle of the city and the quiet suburban towns of the Hudson Valley. Jolece always loved the multicultural environment she grew up in and aims to continue mirroring her world’s diversity into her own artworks.
She received a BFA in Animation and Illustration at Montclair State University and specializes in digital illustration and comics. Over the years Jolece has been taking on private commissions for 6+ years and is featured in multiple zines.
Her art is primarily driven by her love of animated media and comics, often including fantasy, nature, romance and fairies into her artworks. She draws in a lineless art style that’s reminiscent of Disney storybooks and Kay O’Neill’s Tea Dragon Series. She often immerses herself in fashion and aesthetic trends to include them in her art pieces.
When Jolece is not glued to her ipad, she enjoys reading, playing video games and watching Studio Ghibli films.
